ps: This title is a bit niche.
Speaking of switching from Samsung Fold4 to Xiaomi 14 Pro, although it was work-related, I am quite satisfied with Xiaomi 14 Pro.
In terms of the mobile system, Xiaomi's hyperos is still full of ads like MIUI.
Thanks to Samsung's push mechanism and hardware security measures like KNOX, domestic software does not work well on it. It is a common phenomenon to miss messages frequently. Although there are fewer ads compared to Xiaomi, they still exist. However, the reminders from Samsung's Life Assistant are always online. Flight and high-speed rail information can be displayed directly on the lock screen. Once I forgot about a travel plan, thanks to Samsung's Life Assistant reminding me 2 hours in advance, I caught the high-speed rail. From the bottom of my heart, I feel that One UI is very user-friendly.
Furthermore, although Samsung's Bixby has degraded, it is still very useful. Functions like automatically turning on WiFi based on location are not mentioned. Bixby Daily can automatically update scene modes based on frequently visited places and routes, which is greatly appreciated. Similarly, there are not many adjustments that can be made to daily tasks in hyper os.
The overall appearance of the system is very different from One UI. In my opinion, the Pixel system is still the best, followed by One UI, and then iOS.
Among domestic phones, OnePlus and Meizu's Flyme would have been my first choice.
Unfortunately, while Flyme is good, Meizu's camera is really bad, and the resources for playing with the phone are quite limited.
In the end, Xiaomi was the only choice left.
As major reviews have said, Xiaomi 14 is a well-balanced flagship phone in every sense.
In my opinion, Xiaomi 14's imaging capabilities have finally reached a usable level. As a loyal Samsung user, I must say that Samsung's photo capture rate is very high. Although there are claims online about strong smudging and oversaturation of colors, for someone like me who is not used to post-processing, Samsung's photos are usable right after being taken. Additionally, viewing them directly on Samsung's screen adds to the appeal, which has kept me in the habit of using Samsung.
However, local search is very poor. Even iOS provides local search, but hyper os's local search is practically non-existent. While One UI's local search may not be perfect, at least it exists, and it conveniently prioritizes recent searches. Occasionally opening less frequently used apps doesn't result in a chaotic search. This area should be promptly addressed. One UI's gallery can accurately search for desired photos, perform OCR text recognition, and easily find identification photos.
In terms of playability, Xiaomi is indeed stronger than Samsung. If you want to root a Samsung device, you first have to face the risk of KNOX tripping, which compromises the security of the Secure Folder. This essentially eliminates the idea of unlocking the bootloader before the warranty expires.
Although unlocking the bootloader on Xiaomi 14 has received criticism, at least it can still be done. Compared to some domestic manufacturers where you only buy the right to use the phone and not ownership, this is highly commendable.
Due to Xiaomi's large user base, especially among young people, there are many post-unlock customization options available. There is no shortage of suitable ROMs, optimization tutorials, which greatly enrich the ecosystem.
